    Himmler document stamp

Todays gun show item is supposedly a Himmler document stamp with his name, sigrunes, and a dot on the wood handle to show which way is "up" vet says its brass with wood handle. Going to meet him this week hopefully, are there any red flags to look for or any fake brass and wood stamps that are readily detectible?

    Thanks,

    Steve in Dallas Tx

    Hi Steve,
search on the forums for: stamp / stamper / document stamp / Feldpost stamp / seal, etc, there you can see what is wrong with most of them.

Okay he brought it into the show yesterday, typical wooden handle, rectangular heavy brass stamp with waffen stamps on outside edge and the following:

      Reichsfuhrerer SS (sigrunes)
      (highly detailed political eagle)
      himmler

Any ideas or opinions, I cant find an example

If the name 'Himmler' forms part of the stamp, I'd say it's a fantasy.

Even without seeing a photo of the stamp it clearly sounds fake to me.

              Is this one real?

I was told it was found during a renovation in Poland.

                          Hi Perry,

                          But stampers are fakes.
The one with the skull is just a fantasy piece.
The "Hohenstaufen" is fake too, with the wrong lettertype.
Both have the same handle, same model, made of the same wood, both newly painted.
As all these fake stampers are coming from the east, Poland is a good possibility.

found during a renovation, found in a basement - cellar or an attic.......found after it was placed there only a few minutes before.

The GERMAN W.2 "10 PANZ. DYV. FRUNDSBURG" WAX STAMP
                            has a different handle,

Is the Frunsburge a fake too???

Both of these hand stamps are 'fantasy' items in my opinion.
