            Authenticity

Completely original. It's not as yet been possible to copy, or completely doctor up the oil cloth paper. This is a pretty good example of a Truppenausweis. It's nothing really out of the ordinary, but the condition, subject Germainia, and picture are all quite collectable. Value around $ 500.

is there anything stateing that these are original? i was talking to a guy over the weekend and he mentioned that these are not real because the regular ausweis never had a place for hair color eye color and so on. Thank you

There are many variations of the Truppenwies. Most of the examples have lines for personal attributes/physial description. This is very common, as on the early SA Auswies as well.

Personnel Documents Of the SS by Charles Barger , I think has an example. Notwithstanding evidence in a book this is a super Original Truppen Ausweiss.

The regular military had Truppenausweis as thier standard form of ID, prior to the Soldbuch and some were oil cloth, so why wouldn't the SS have them? This is identical to some I have seen in SS files!

so did it go truppenausweis then the ausweis (manilla color) then the soldbuch?

The normal SS Ausweis was for all SS members and the truppenasuweis was for the new armed "military SS" (TK-Verbande & Verf******252;gungstruppe) which later became the Waffen SS. In 1939, like the other military branches, the SS went to Soldb******252;cher.

where these were only made in oil cloth?
