    Waffen SS Wehrpass

    Has anyone seen the WSS Werhpass on the blackcrossmilitaria site? If original would $845.00 be a fair price or is that too much. I have seen Heer WPs on WA but cant recall an WSS. If you have the time check it out and what our your thoughts.

    Had a look. A nice WSS WP. IMHO very pricey, but figure that dealers are looking to make there cut as well. Would price at between $500 to $600 max. Estimate though is relative as there continues to be an ever growing number of new collectors coming into the hobby with more money than sense who will probably buy it at the current asking price.

      Thanks Edward, I do think it is high but for the shape it is in I can understand the mark up. I will have to think hard on this. Once again thanks for your imput.

          As W-SS combat books go it is quite a nice one but I'd agree with Edward that the price is a bit on the high side. However, there are collectors out there who specifically collect W-SS items so it might sell. It depends on the patience of the collector. If you wait around similar items will eventually appear at much lower prices...but then you might get caught in the stampede to buy it.

          Where I do disagree with Edward is that there is an ever growing band of new collectors. If anything it's shrinking...more and more people are selling up or cutting back. This appears to have gone unnoticed by the dealers who continue to increase the prices. Take alook at some of the stock held by online dealers...some of them have had the items for literally years desperately hoping that someone is going to pay 2-3 times over the odds.
