Nothing I can refute with good reason, Frederick

Anyway this is the first time I read anything Panzer-Kampfwagen-Reserve (<i>PKR</i>) (no published material I think? Nothing in Tessin, Jentz, Stoves (<i>22,25,27...</i>), and <i>Weg und Schicksal der 22. Panzer-Division</i>)... I am interested in your earlier encounters with <i>PKR</i>... In which documents were they inscribed?

What made me write my earlier delusion (<i>naturally without evidence</i>): <i>PKR</i> could have been a Tarnbezeichnung of Pz.Rgt.204 that was used for a very short time.

I'll wait for your definitive conclusion (sooner or later)!

Oops, should've done minimum homework... Rgt. 204 did not have 4.Kp. until 1942... And Pz.-Ers.Abt.204 came into being in April 1942... No possibility of Tarnbezeichnung

          Gents,
Here's what I can gather from the Soldbuch...

          15.2.1941 Soldbuch issued by 4/Pz.Ers.Abt. 25, Erlangen.
14.2.1942 promotion to Gefreiter noted on page 3 by above unit.
14.2.1942 kit issue on page 6 as "Versetzung" or transfer...(most probably to the unit below!)
          21.2.1942 exchange of clothing from Pz.Ers.Abt. 15....
          10.6.1942 Iron Rations issued.
          23.2.1942 issue of a P08 pistol.
15.7.1942 Panzer Assault in Silver through 22 Pz.Div.

From my reckoning I would say that he was issued a Luger onf 23.2.1942 prior to being sent to Pz.Kpfw.Res., the iron rations were issued 10.6.1942 when transferring to his front line unit...then around Cherson under Heeres Gruppe Süd....

So most probably in existance spring/summer 1942?

          What's everyone else think?

          /Ian
