    Richard,

Scan 3, fifth line down on right. The scan isn't very good due to the small imgae size allowed on here.

    Cheers,
    Gary.

Thanks for sharing this, Gary. Did the photos come with the Wehrpass?

No, the photos are from the 3. Panzerdivision history.

Thanks Gary, I'm going blind in my old age! What are the second award and the one that is next to last on that same page. I can't quite make them out. Looks like he racked up lots of awards in 1940. A busy guy.

            Wp

Very nice piece Gary, and great WP photo, not being a Heer collector it is quite nice to see WP to a KC winner and in particular a member of a variety Panzer units/operations.

By the looks of the entries it would appear that this replacement WP was issued shortly after his evacauation from Stalingrad?

Yes, Jeremy. It was issued in July 1943. The original was either destroyed or languishes in a dusty Russian archive. Possibly it still lies buried in some dugout in Stalingrad.

                      Cute Wehrpass !

Concerning the location of death you have to read Bellefontaine and Sourdeval!

                        Hey Gary,
Concerning Schneider-Kostalski, I do run across his name now and then while researching at the archives. Are you interested in collecting more info on him? Also, I am doing a bio of Meinrad von Lauchert who mentions S-K in at least one of his letters, so I plan to do a capsule bio of him in my reference section. Thanks for sharing this info.

                          Hi Gary,
Excellent WP indeed. Would you be so kind sharing his Erkennungsmarke details. Just wanted to check if it was Stammrolle nr.1.
                          Regards

                            Gary-

Awesome Wehrpass you have there! You did quite well indeed. Nice original piece, and the photos from Merville and Russia really help you connnect the book with its former owner

                            Thanks for sharing!
