Are there entries for the EK1 and 2 in the soldbuch, as both these had to have been awarded before he could be awarded the DKiS?

            Cheers

Wrong for the DKiS you had to have the KVK II & I m/S......EK's are for the Gold version.

I must admit I am not so impressed with the entry, however just because he is not listed does not mean he is not entitled to it as the list still is incomplete.

However they do appear to be squeezed in and no seperate stamp for the KVK I and DKiS entry!?!?!

              /Ian

I am not a German spelling expert, but shouldn't the entry read: Deutsches, not Deutshes?

                    DKiS

                    Hmmmm, wouldn't touch it myself.

Any chance of a closer view of the KViS and DKiS entries???

In my opinion it's either post war or the man could have done that himself. This was a common problem and the Germans were continuely addressing it in regulations.

Hi Jeff, hope you are keeping well, thanks for the info on the soldbuch it would appear I have been had on this one. Ah well not to worry it could turn out to be original (fingers crossed!!!) Fancy seeing a scan of my luftwaffe roll of honour from 1941 showing Joachim Marsailles award of the German cross in gold (honest mate - I'm sure this ones real!!!)

                                DKiS

While not a Soldbuch, here is an actual "Deutsches Kreuz im Silber" award recipient, Oberstingeniuer Kurt Brieth. Brieth received the DKiS on 3 Nov. 44.

Scan of his awards prior to DKiS...
