            Hello Doug,

That's a nice late-war SB, and does not look to be a replacement issue from the scans. Looks also like he was a proffessor of engineering. Due to his background he was assigned to a technical battalion. The stamp actually says Markt Hindelang which is in Southern Bavaria. Due to the very close-end-of-war period such stamps are found in passbooks and were used at times instead of the more common TR stamping by either the local military or civil administration. As a late-war reservist he probably never left Germany and was demobilized quickly before the end.

            Regards

It appears that he was originally going to be trained as a Panzer-Grenadier.

                  The last entry says:

                  Vom Wehrdienst Entlassen: Mai 2.

                  Meaning:

Discharged from the Armed Services May 2nd.

                  Neat book!

I have a little spot for these books in my heart, but have none yet...
