    Ostfront, 1941 KIA Wehrpass

I had gotten this almost a month ago, and have been trying to find where the soldier may be buried. I tried searching his name, Karl Becker, at the German War Graves website, but I think I was doing something wrong and did not come up with anything. Any help with his unit or his current resting place would be of great help! I am going to Germany and Eastern Europe next year, and would like to put flowers on his grave.
    Later, and thanks in advance!

The chances of his grave in Russia being known are very low. The volksbund database isn't complete but if you post some scans we'll help.

Thanks for the input, Gary. I would appreciate any help. I did a search on the area where he was shot in the stomach, and then died later that day. It is a town/city in Yugoslavia called Dobri Dub. I sure hope I can locate him.
      Here are the scans.
      Thanks!
      Karl

Order, which I believe is the West Wall medal. It is suprising to me that he has no battle entries, being that he would have been in the West and then the East, and then fell in combat. Strange.

                  Close- up of KIA entries.
As before, any help on this soldat is greatly appreciated. He is very similar to me, in that he comes from the direct area my mom's ancestors came from (Bingen am Rhein) and his name is Karl B.
Thanks for the help you guys!

Hi Karl. I can tell without looking at any maps that Dobri isn't in Yuogslavia. 112. Infanteriedivision was in Russia at this time.

I'll see if I can dig out some maps.

He didn't see any combat in the West...the absence of battle entries is not unusual especially for men KIA early in the Russia campaign.

                        112. ID was south of Mogilev in Belarus on 12th August 1941 as this map shows (division is where the red arrow is pointing). Of course his unit may well have been seconded to another division but this would still be in the same Korps area.

So Dobri is in White Russia. I am definately going there next year, as my German friend has girl pen-pals there.
Maybe I can find the grave. I sure hope so.

Good to hear that! I am very proud of it too. It my favorite out of the five I have.
Later, and thanks again you two!

So he did not fight in the West then. Is his award entry not for the West Wall medal then?
