Erkennungsmarke information

Hello: I have an Erkennungsmarke with the following information, and hoping someone could help identify some of it's history.

1. / Pz. R. 25

Someone told me it was from the 1st SS Panzer Division, and someone told me it was 1. Kompanie/Panzerregiment 25 which was an element of the 7th Panzer Division.

Any information is appreciated.
