Hi all,
i got this Soldbuch today. Iam planning to sell it on the estand the next days but it thought it might be good to ask for a value since iam not an expert on these.
To the Book: The vet scretched out the Swastika of the front page. There is one staple in the first page, but no signs of a second one for holding a foto. Also there is no stamp or any other shadow of a Foto on the first page. I think there wasnt ever any foto inside the book.
The book came together with the original dogtag and a letter from an office. The ID tag match the entry in the Soldbuch. Tag and book is stamped with "Stamm-Kp. /I.E.B. 414. He started duty at 1.5.1943. There are some unit stamps from the "Afrika Div. Kdo. 164. le." inside.
There is a extra page for tropical equipment inside the book, he had many of the items and it looks like he got the canvas boots, Y web starp, moskito net, and many other trop. equipment. There is an intresting entry in the weapon section. It is written that he got a protection cover (Schutzhülle) for his 98 k. I think this is a very rare item. He also got the "Eiserne Ration" at 8.2.43. On 10.5.43 he was awarded the German Italian campain medal.
There is an entry which says that he " entered africanian ground at 21.2.43"
He was captured at 13.5.43 at 15:00 o´clock afternoons.
There is an entry in his book which says that he got a treatment after his capturing in the "Deutsches Lager Lazarett" at 28.5.43.
There comes a letter from a so called "Arbeitsstab Stalingrad Tunis" with the book. The letter was send from this office probably to the wife or parents after here husband or son was captured. They would like to know all dates when he served in Afrika and so on. So that they could calculate his Afrika Zulage.
Ok Gents, please have a look and if somebody could tell me what these items are worth that would be very nice.
Many thanks Jens
