    Wehrpass Rudolf Thiel - Füsilier-Kompanie 272

I'm looking for the owner of the Wehrpass from a soldier named Rudolf Thiel. His last unit was Füsilier-Kompanie 272 from the 272.Volksgrenadier-Division.

I have Rudolf's Soldbuch and additional documents. It would be nice to see the info from the Wehrpass.
I know the Wehrpass exists, it was offered for sale to another collector around 12 years ago. Although i don't know who the seller was.

I'm collecting anything related to the towns Castricum and Bakkum during WWII.
Also soldbucher from 116pzdiv. And 1944-1945 eastfront pockets, kampfgruppe and Oder front.

Can you post a photo of Thiel's Soldbuch photo? I think I may have owned this many years ago. Also, was Thiel killed in action?

      Thanks for your response.

Thiel was made POW on 17 Dec. 1944 during the fighting in Kesternich (Hürtgenwald).
As you probably know, the company documents survived and a well known American collector bought them.
Thiel's Wehrpass was one of the few that was sold before another American, D.E. Nash, was able to buy the whole grouping.
Nash studied the documents and wrote a book about the unit. I already had contact with Nash about Thiel.

Do you happen to have any pictures of the Wehrpass or any info on it?
Do you remember whom you sold it to?

Thanks for your response. A friend and I bought a lot of the 272. VGD IDs. In fact, we were the first to see the grouping when it was brought back to the U.S. If we had to do it over again, we would have bought the entire grouping. I still have five Soldbücher from the group.

If you post a photo of Thiel's Soldbuch photo I might remember it and possibly remember where the Wehrpass went. Thanks!

Great find! Would it be possible to include the unit list and equipment list pages on this thread? Also you could possibly contact Doug Nash if he owns Thiel's Wehrpass. I had found a soldbuch on bunkermilitaria.com and took a few snapshots of the book and sent them to him to authenticate it. Sure enough he confirmed he had supplementary information to confirm the young man's existence along with letters written to his family after his death. It is worth a shot asking.

Thanks in advance for any photos you could provide!

I'll add some more pictures later. I'm having some troubles with my PC.
Yes i have contacted Doug, he told me about the existence of the Wehrpass.
I also bought Doug's book, pretty cool to read about the unit!

I'm still looking for (photo's of) the Wehrpass
