Wehrpass KIA, Eben Emael, battle of Maastricht...

Hello everyone,

I'm fairly new to collecting Wehrpasses/soldbucher and would like you to show you this wehrpass that im very proud of to have it in my collection.

Heinrich was on the 10th of may 1940 at the batlle of Maastricht and the capture of Fort Eben Emael under command of the 269th infantry division in infantery regiment 489, wich is perfect for my collection because I collect everything thats related to my region!
Later in the war he was KIA on the eastern front in Russia.

I'm not a real good explainer, but if you look at the scans of the wehrpass, you can see for yourself.
I know what he did and know what happened to him and can read 90% of the wehrpass, but I will let you tell by the scans...

Help/comments are welcome, but I also have a few questions still left to ask you guys...

Is there any information I can get from about the 269th infantry division, 489th infantery regiment? Especially in the early days of the war, 10 may 1940...

Seems like a nice WP you have there.
I collect for over 20 years now but only the last year I got interested in SB and WP. Besides Normandy and liberation of Belgium I’m Just like you especially interested in units which passed through my region (Western Flanders) in may 1940.

Yes absolutely
It gives more research and evidence what happened here in my region, so as yours...

I have recently bought a new one from the 18th infanterie division and also got another one of the 14th infanterie division...
The 14th were not that close, but close enough haha

I will post scans later of the 14th infanterie division, it has a nice detailed battlelist.


The 18th infanterie division, if I'm correct, fought trough Bilzen and not so far from Zutendaal. Thats also not far away from me...
You may correct me if i'm wrong.

Interesting Wp. for sure. Never seen such Eben Emael mention!
Even if it's not my area, such detailed and famous mentions are interesting to see.
