Goodafternoon guys,
So i got this one in this week. it consists of his wehrpass, wehrpass cover, deathcard and a 1000 mark note. The wehrpass was openend on the 5th of December 1938 in Znaim. Franz Mühlberger was born on the 10th of January 1916 in Erdberg (now Czech). In 1942 he married his wife Anna. He swore his oath on the 21st of January 1939.
First he was part of the 14. Panzerjäger kompanie of Infanterie-Regiment 62. With this unit he took part in the attack on Poland and on Belgium and France. Afterwards he was part of the occupation forces in France and spent some time getting ready for operation Seelöwe (invasion of England).
In November of 1940 he was transferred to the 16. Panzerjäger kompanie of Infanterie-Regiment 204. With this unit he fought in Russia from the 22nd of June 1941. He recieved both EK's, i'm thinking on the same day? In September 1941 he was wounded by a gunshot through the upper leg.
Until May of 1942 he was in ersatz units and was then transferred back to his unit. There he stayed until he got killed on the 9th of October 1942 near Majkop.
He earned the following awards:
- Ek2
- Ek1
- Wbib
- Inf assault badge
He also got promoted 4 times:
- Oberschützen
- Gefreiten
- Obergefreiten
- Oberjäger
Please share your opinions with me, i'm always interested in describing things better.
