    Soldbuch Italian Fallschirmjäger Regiment Folgore

    This Soldbuch came in and can anyone provide further infos to this unit, the Italaian Fallschirmjäger Regiment Folgore in the time between May and August 1944.
    Saw it action and where in Italy?
    In August 1944 he joined the Fallschirmjäger Aufklärungsabteilung 11.
    Where did that unit fight in November 1944 when he was wounded in action?

      Formed: 1.4.44 in Bologna from Fliegerhorst-Kommandantur E 38/IV.

            No entries in the hospitalization page I am afraid.

              I believe they were heavily involved with the Anzio landings and suffered severe losses there, but were considered an elite fighting force.
