Late war Soldbuch 8. Gebirgs-Division in Italy

a late war solbuch quickly udpdate, with few and confused information … and every comment, correction or clarification and very welcome

Issued April 12, 1944, by the Infanterie-Ersatz-Bataillon 423 of Neuburg an der Donau (the stamp also in his photo) to Stanislau Reihtscheid, born June 20, 1926 in Rawa Ruska, Galicia, on the border between Russia and Poland, sadly note, a few years later, at the beginning of the invasion of Russia, for the slaughter of the important Jewish community (in the 1921 census the Jews were 42% in Rawa Ruska, exactly like the 42% of Poles , 14% of Ukrainians and practically no German ethnic minority, disappeared after the end of the Austro-Hungarian empire, except who knows how our Stanislau, born them in 1926)… ..

Gebirgsjager destination, it goes to the Gebirgsjäger-Ersatz-Bataillon 100 of Bad Reichenhall then in Italy at the beginning of 1945 in the Gebirgs-Jäger-Regiment 296, but the registration of its last department is probably missing: the
MG-Bataillon "Feldmarschall Kesselring 2, a unit of reinforcement machine guns, quickly noted on page 3 in the recording of his promotion to gefreiter, just before or during his injury and transfer from the front as we will see a little further on, ….

The assignments

there is no assigned rifle but only a 7.65 FN pistol, assigned immediately in January 1945, probably a mod. 1922, (a machine gun gunner?)

The photos of his barracks in Bad Reichenhall gebirgsjager Kaserne yesterday and today, except the swastika of the missing eagle it is no change….

And here is his hospitalization in St. Ulrich (Ortisei) in South Tirol, April 24, 1945, but his injury is much earlier. An out unit payment already dated from April 1, 1944, and the registration of the wounded silver badge and related EK2 noted on April 1, 1944 (therefore probably in March) of the Sanitats Kompanie of 162. (Turkistan) Infanterie-Division …… I tried to look for where the 2. / Sanitäts-Kompanie 236 could have been in February / March 1945 but it is an almost impossible track only that it was between Parma / Reggio Emilia / Modena….

and this young gebirgsjager-machine gunner, he spent the first two months of the 1945 in line with the 8. Gebirgs-Division just south of Bologna where the front was stationary, between constant wars of patrols in the no man's land, from mid-October 1944. The Alpine troops presided over the stretch between Monte Sole (that of the Marzabotto massacre) and Monterunici, between the Reno valley and the Savena valley, and will remain here until 18 April 1944 ..

there is a connection between the MG-Btl. Feldm.Kesselring 2 and the Sanit. Komp. of the 162 Turk Div. (303) that hospitalized the soldier but the dates do not coincide (the date of the injury should be March 1945)
