        spange

Sorry but it is a fake. First L/58 didn't make a spange. It looks like they used a Deumer to make a copy from. Jim

          I think it’s marked L/56

Nope! Not L/58 or L/56 but I'm pretty sure its actually an original L/53 spange (made by Hymen & Co. Lüdenscheid). I remember because a fellow posted a clear picture of a marked one like this one on another forum and I couldnt help but notice the similarities (general eagle shape, talons, weird crooked swaz) his spange had with an unmarked 16mm ribbon bar mini I have & he said mine was from the same maker

PS: Funny coincidence but I just saw a L/53 zink version (the OP one looks tombac ) with back repairs was posted & sold today at Hiscoll: same bird design as the piece posted here IMO

It’s a perfectly original Hymmen spange marked L/53

                A rare one!

                    spange

Sorry about making the wrong statement, it is an L/53. The general unfinished edges also led me to think it was a fake. Jim
