German cross in Gold makersmarked 134 Otto Klein

    Hello Collectors,

I am looking for some extra opinions on this German cross in Gold makersmarked 134 Otto Klein. The medal has some obvious damage to the enamel in the Swastika, but besides that looks fine to me.

Thanks alot for your opinions !

Wreath looks agressively cleaned. All gilding is gone.

It´s a good DKiG with the been there look.
As said it have also been cleaned heavily so lot of gold finish have been lost on the wreath.

Thanks guys ! I did not clean it, I got it in the state it is in. The patina will build up on it over time, I am sure of that.

                Patina will, gilt will not.

Good to see one in this condition because it shows it was worn but most of the Klein (134) DKiGs I have seen are rather new looking

I have to agree with Ralph though...Over time patina will indeed build up on the worn/cleaned details of the wreath but it will be the coppery patina of tombac (wreath base metal) not the original plated gilt finish with polished highlights. Once that gold finish is gone its gone for good

One to compare that was found with its case. Weird spots on the swaz are not wear/damage just reflection on my crappy picture

                  Cheers

I was going to say perhaps it's the very rare DKiK, the German Cross in Kupfer (copper). Just joking. Still an original and interesting example.

                      Jean-Claude, that's a gorgeous example.
