    Opinions on EK 1 Spange

    Hello guys,
My buddy has a few things that he would like to trade. I expressed interest in a couple of items that he has. My problem is that I have never even held a spange, so determining it's authenticity seems a little out of my league. I have seen what I think is the exact same spange in various publications. I would appreciate any and all comments. If i was a betting man I would say it is genuine, so let me have it. OR
    Thanks in advance, Brian

I do not like the back of this Spange, looks to me like it was cast or something.

And the date bar seems to lack some details.
So I would give it a

But wait for the experts, I have been wrong before

      Best regards,

It has given a spange which bears a resemblance with your depicted one. That is the good message.
Unfortunately does not your one match with her. Back looks different and fastening resemble as well.
I am sorry it is not a contemporary item.

Low quality. Signs of being a casting. Not original to me.

          Sorry.

It does resemble this known original, but somehow not perfectly....

Thanks for the comparisons, Peter! Very helpful!

Here's another good one of this type.

Reverse. This example has a needle-type pin.

Yes, not a good Spange. Here is another example of what it should look like:
