I am a biologist, I love science because science is rational and is based on repeated tests and detailed analysis. Therefore, once it has been proven that the cross is not easily removable, I proceed to dissect the bar, for two reasons, analyze and eliminate a hypothetical fake. The first thing I observe is that it is not the classic medal bar where its pieces are crocheted and easily removable and interchangeable. All the decorations are sewn from their origin, that is, the pin was built like this, it has never been altered, its pieces have not been replaced.
Once I have seen everything in depth, I can only say that if that cross is a fake, as the crossing specialists say, the whole bar was built after the war, and in a very professional way. Perfectly sewn, with its cotton to give volume and protection, with original decorations (outside the EK2), original ribbons and a base with pin and hook that matches other period pieces.
If as the specialists affirm, the cross is fake, this bar is a very very dangerous piece and made by an authentic professional.
Ah... EK2 is not mark marked.

To collectors of iron crosses who wish to have this "dangerous" cross, I put this piece to sell.

Hi Jose and everyone else! Based on what I saw and read, I dare to assume that we have an original cross. A copy was taken from the exact same cross and became known as a fake "333". There are no other explanations for this phenomenon! It is unfortunate that the bar is now lost forever. Jose! Say tape were stretched tightly on the bar?
In my practice, there was a very similar problem, which is why I reacted so sharply to this discussion!

Thank you for your input, Edward 1970. Thank you very much. I've been collecting German pieces from the 1933-45 period for 20 years. A decade specializing in ordensspange. But I am not a great expert in EK2. For that reason, if several people tell me, completely sure, that the cross is a fake, I must trust their opinion. In my experience, if that cross is fake, the bar is fake, and made by a professional. Now ... if the cross is not a fake, for me the medal bar WAS 100% original. Now there is no solution.
This is one of the problems, and at the same time great virtues of collecting, rarely 100% sure. But I could not keep or sell a piece that is not original. Now there is no going back....

Thank you Jose for the photographic documentation. The person who created this bar medal put a lot of work into it.

This iron cross is different from the fakes "333" and therefore I consider it to be the original and I also consider the medal bar to be the original. Time to move on.

Edward - you can believe what you want. Me and several other more competent experts consider this cross to be a fake.
Jose - thank you again for the great approach to the problem.
