A few crosses for review

Hello,

I am hoping that some of you would be willing to assist with the following 4 WW2 crosses.

I would like to know if these are:

A) genuine?
B) makers

I am not a collector, so any additional information would be greatly appreciated.

Cross EK 2 (#1)

Cross EK1 (#3) - looks very damaged

2 crosses of EK2-1939:

lower =so called "Ubergrosse" of Frank & Reif (=12)
upper =schinkel of Maybauer (=7)

yes I agree with Jarek in the two EK2

IMO the "damage" cross a W& L type ,but the inner core a little strange to me , the another a good Mayer type with PKZ marked mark

#3 is to me clearly is a 'ground dug' W&L EK2 with a replaced core - not W&L - .
Chemically cleaned frame -- the ones I cleaned up look the same as this one . We however left the old cores inside .
The rusting core pops the frame apart .

Very interesting Douglas! I do not know the history of the cross, but that makes it quite special... a cross with a great history. Forgive me my ignorance, when you say, that the core is replaced, does that mean a spare core (the section with the swastika) was substituted in the W&L frame?

Hi M :
The core is replaced and not a war time W&L core in it now .
Looking at the shape of the frame it most likely had - no - remaining original core inside when it was dug up .
