Both cross and case are good, maker Deumer.

Either the photo of the case is distorted, or the embossed cross on top of the case is WAY off. I've never seen such a sloppy look case....

Sloppy look? That's a rather high quality case! Early materials, suitable for an early cross. The later cases are from a lesser quality. Did you notice the picture is upside down?

If it's good, so be it. Orientation of the case doesn't matter, the embossed cross appears to be poorly executed.
