Nice 2nd frame and brass core W&L .
Painted brass cores over time show this 'blistering' problem .

              Thanks Douglas,

Because of the core, would this cross be of the pre LDO regulation period ?

Certainly pre LDO - as it otherwise has to have the 'L/-mark" on it .
Yours is still early production . When W&L stopped using brass cores is not known .
Award pieces were only to have iron cores . Some manufacturers did not like that and were slow to change over . W&L did use at first copper and brass cores .
Berlin could check cores very easily - magnet test ! " Not sticking - not proper " !

Escuse my ignorance, but as much as I tried to spot the difference in the frame, I am afriad I could not find what is the difference from chrisjet110 cross.
