put it like this: if I gently try pushing the ben bits are htey apt to BREAK? I reckon heating it isnt too smart...

Notwitstanding "idjits" on a bending spee (this must have been some very stiff KVK ribbon to pin through to warp a spange that way!) this looks like a nice EK II Deumer tombac spange. Luckily the 4 clips are present and the bent wing doesnt look cracked through on either side so it shouldnt be a big deal to put it back the way it was without BBQuing the finish to a crisp with a blow torch or beating the detail to hell with a ball & peen hammer...

Anyway, if no one comes through with an easy solution you like, send me a PM with your email address so I can send you illustrations

I would rest it on a piece of wood running from top to bottom about the width of the pins and press down from the front with your thumb, one thumb on top of the other with as much force as you can. You can keep applying pressure to get it as far back into place as possible. You will only get one good shot at it. Don’t try and flex the wings etc as they’ll break. I wouldn’t use anything harder than your thumb. Even a piece of soft wood may mark it. I hope that makes sense. Lovely spange.

thanks a lot, tony. '2 Thumb's Up' ! (down?) I did actually bend the prongs to more or less normal position; no probs there tho I sweated it... so, no putting in in a vise with wood or alu facings, then eh... (groan wail gnash teeth)
