    Cloth German Cross. Opinions please.

    Hi All,
Been offered this German Cross at £230.00, would like your comments.
The swastika seems smaller than normal.

          Mike,

this is for sure not what one would call " a typical example" of a German Cross in Gold-Cloth version. I personally would not buy this for $ 440.-. Not because it might not be real, but because it has certain odd things, such as the swastika you already mentioned. The border of the swastika is also rounded off, buty that's known. The outer rays are not very pronounced, the inner red ring is a little too small...

If there would not be the flaw in the "9" I really would dismiss it completely (which might be wrong). Maybe the wreath is casted, but it doesn't look like it. Let's put it this way - I would wait for a better one.

I agree with Dietrich here. Let me add, the center where the swaz also seems to be - well, not white or even close to white. The wear doesn't justify the fading if that is what it is. I would find one better, frankly.

              Hi,

              Thanks for the comments.
Think I'll give this one a miss. Don't think the centre was originally white, this seems to be the colour as shown.

I agree with Dietrich 100%. The ONLY thing I like about this piece is the date. I would like to see better photos of the wreath.

Ugly, poor symmetry. Good move by passing on it!

                          Hi Ashley,

yours is for sure okay and it's still different to the one in question. I also had a discolored cloth version. Maybe it was washed once with a red t-shirt? It really wasn't the color that did put me off.

Cheers Ashley for the input and pictures, centre does look same colour.
As Dietrich said the rays are different.
