    Stolen in the mail

    Last week I snagged up a one-piece P&L ek2
Small ring and ribbon-ring missing, but at a nice price.

Today I received the envelope, it was open at 1 side and of course the cross was missing.

Please keep an eye out and let me know if it pops up.

    Thanks in advance!

Pic is not good, but if you see the cross you will know.

Won't be difficult to spot if seen as the P&L's are rare, the distinguishing defect is helpful.
Sorry to hear about this loss.

I advise to check what was original weight and what was final.

          Sorry to hear this Ben.
Pretty foolish to put just the cross in a paper envelope, IMO.

I always tape the ends, if it is loose ,one swipe and it breaks out of package.

Well that sure blows. The arms on a cross are sharp and when sliding back and forth during transit they could easily split the envelope. To say the least the packaging was idiotic. What the hell was he thinking?

I had the exact same thing happen a few years back, luckily with a WiO medal. Only thing left was its imprint. Just thrown into a regular envelope..

Might be farfetched and I don't want to start anything but could it be the same seller? I bought it via Marktplaats.nl. Still have the envelope,

                  That's awful !
Off chance ask mail man/women if she found it at the end of the day in her bag .
You probably already done that .

I have the same three days ago.
EK1 cross signed "26" bought from our reliable colleague from WAF. Register packet.
Shipment damaged, empty, but fortunately I opened it officially at the Post Office on delivery.
I do not know, what will happen later, for now there is an investigation ...

                      Regards
                      Jarek

I’m sorry to hear of your loss, Ben. If I may offer a suggestion, sir. Before placing a single cross in a bubble-wrap envelope I wrap it in a tissue, then wrap that in tinfoil, then enclose it between two pieces of cardboard, all securely taped together. Then I slide it into the mailing envelope, and tape the flap shut securely. The reason I wrap the cross in tinfoil is to prevent customs/post office from seeing the shape of the cross in their X-ray scanning machine. All they see is a ‘square’ shape in the scan. It’s never failed me.

Such a shame to see sellers package like that.

If I package a medal in a envelop (mostly only on cheap medals) then I always use a bubblewrap envelop, and I wrap the medal in paper and then I tape it to the inside of the envelop. On that way there should be no movement from the item.
