    Juncker Knights Cross

    Hi Guys,

Just snagged this one at an auction and wanted to check it please?

For me it is an original 800 L/12 RK with repaired loop- what do you think?

    Many thanks

      Looks to be cast !
      That’s a massive beading flaw

I hope you did not pay to much for this very bad fake.

Ok thanks all- wasn’t the comments I expected as the stamps and corner beading look good to me!
The frame is badly worn and damaged in areas rather than flawed- i will post some better pics when in hand as these ones are obviously not very good.

          Thanks

The ring is definitely newly made and attached.

            The rest I like.

In photo number 3 you can see the slightly vaulted core of a Junkers RK.

The "beading flaws" look to be dings/damages in the silver frame.

I think it is an original Junckers RK which had a broken off ring.

            Please better photos.

              Thanks Funia

My thoughts exactly- apart from the condition and repair I can’t find anything wrong with it.

Dietrich- why a bad fake? Everyone heeds your word when it comes to RKs and I know you have a great deal of knowledge- please can you share what condemns the piece?

              Many thanks

You could be right about the what looked like casting flaws!
                Interesting to see better photos

                Kind regards Chay

I wonder if it’s an original rebuilt more than just the ring ?

Maybe I was too rush. I only looked at the ring and a fast glance at the beading and at that was enough for me. I was not prepared to go deeper and investigate the possibility of a repair paired with heavy damage. What I find very curious is that every tip of every arm seems to be "worn", the same with the inside corners - on bost sides.
But you have it in hand and can see better through the damage and the construction than I can with the photos. A strange piece at any rate.

Better pictures will help; however, I feel that it is a repaired original based on what I see in the current pictures. -Ger
