    Schinkel 3er ordensspange

    This ordensspange is a recent pick up and I was wondering if in fact the cross is a Deumer schinkel can anyone confirm ?

                JC ,I agree many Ostmedailles tend to be in quite poor badly worn condition when mounted for wear though I have been lucky enough to purchase a few fine examples like this one. I bet this one never saw a tunic.

                  I agree: very little wear, if any! Perfect bar in great condition. All those Ost are usually described as "feinzink" which isnt tombac but still a reasonable good metal if it is "fein" enough. There are also copper coated zink pieces that also hold their finish well. However a lot are in fact "pot metal" (zink + a lot of junk) and it shows after a while because they dont age well and look out of place on nice bars
