I use a book called "The Iron Cross of 1939". It's by Gordon Williamson. A thick hardbound book chucked full of much information about the iron cross from the 1813 to the RK's. Also the DKIG, spangs and other types. It's been a great reference for me. Others here will "po-po the book but it has served me well. Unfortunately the book is out of print but they come up on the estand from time to time. Not trying to sway anyone from Dietricks book.
He is the best authority on the iron cross.

Gordon’s book was absolutely ground breaking when it came out. It gives a nice overview about the whole series. If that is all one wants, it is great!
However, today’s collectors tend to specify and for that the book is not sufficient. He might have 20pages on the Knights Cross and maybe 30 on the EK1. George and my EK1 book has over 600 pages and we might not have all variations. The upcoming EK2 book is even more complex.
Butit is great when one can choose between an overview or a deeper compendium!

No, I don’t think so. But I will give it a serious try, though!

Here is another great source, sad to say it is in polish language which is not my native language, but based on the few informations i have it looks like a great one!

Maybe our polish friends here knows this one and could provide a few more details on it?
