    Unmarked W & L EK1

A another new one for me. I assume this is a W&L because of the little weird bit of ribbing at the center.

Notice how it too has the round-wire catch and not the flat-wire as normally seen. I wonder if this is an earlier example?

It is possible if I think about it if we emanate from the fact that the unmarked crosses are awarded pieces which have been released in the early war time.
I have seen that cross, with wire catch, without a mm yet. A marked cross (100 or L/55) with flat wire catch yet.
I guess that the awarded pieces were a little bit earlier delivered as the crosses for a privat purchase which have mostly the mm.
