Cross

Most S&L DK on the market are post war.
Some quality made and marked
with maker kode 4 are believed wartime.
So need the 4 to have a
great chance of being wartime.
A grey area with not much
documentation I believe.

No "4" on the pin is the first flag and the easiest to spot. There are some other subtle differences, too, but the lack of the "4" is enough, in my view, to stop.

P.S. S&L received the contract for the DKiG and DKiS in July, 1944. The PKZ number for this level of award would have been mandated, IMO, by this time. It can be argued that perhaps some did not have it, but, as said, it is now a grey area.

I checked also few more categories - for example identity discs.. seller is either stupid or runs his business on very low morale.
