    Dear Stefan,

I am not of the opinion that the 11 crosses match the Deumer crosses designwise. I am on eof the Grossmann believers. But theories are always interesting, I will remember it.
I know there are several core material variations for 11s, but does anybody have a COPPER plated IRON core like mine?
    Cheers, Frank

Frank Thater was kind to email me this one and i got permission from him to post it here. The core is magnetic, but clearly plated.

            Cheers.

Is bronse used for plating on all cores posted so far, or could there be brass used on one of them ?

                Cheers.

Not very good pictures, but here is an unmarked brass plated, iron core.

                      Pete....

If my life depended on it, I couldn't tell you what this core was made from.... but it's plating of some description - I'm assuming brass - because the core is magnetic.

So far, COPPER and BRASS platings over iron have been shown in this thread.
                        Cheers, Frank

                          Peter,
Here is another like Frank's. It appears to be copper coated and is magnetic. It looks much lighter than it actually is. The scan does not show the true dark redness of the coating.
