EK2 Ribbon Widths Question

Forgive me if this is a novice question, but I have an EK2 suspended from a 2.6 cm wide ribbon. It appears original, but all other EK2s I own have a 3 cm wide ribbon. I know that narrower ribbon was used for ribbon bars (and perhaps in button holes on tunics?) but is it correct to see a ribbon of this width on a medal itself?

Hi Brad,

Not normally.
The standard width for ribbons issued with iron crosses was approx 30mm.
Sounds to me like a button hole ribbon made it on to your ek at some stage.
