    Hello,

I'd appreciate any comments on this EKII Spange.

Unfortunately this is a hard one. Probably a fake but has a small chance of being a good one. Questions out of curiosity:
    1. Any marks?
    2. Zinc or buntmetal?
    3. Is each prong soldered separately to the reverse?
    Best regards,
    Streptile

      Hello,

Thank you for the comments. Here are the answers to the questions. The spange isn't marked on the reverse. I believe it is zinc. Each prong is soldered on separately to the reverse. Let me know if I can do anything else.

      Regards,
      Tim

There are originals of this design made or marketed by L/59 or Petz and Lorenz, but the believable ones I've seen are zinc with one solid strip of material (bent in two places) comprising each set of prongs:

As it stands, most would simply call yours a fake and move on. In my opinion it should be judged in hand. It wouldn't surprise me if one day some member posts an authentic example with good silver finish.
        Best regards,

          Hello,

Here is the backside of the spange. It appears to be a fake. I truly appreciate your time in commenting on this thread.
