            From what I can see - a few features that would indicate a 2nd strike .
            Why a 2nd strike ? .. maybe 1st strike was not at the correct pressure ?
            I have 2 crosses with the same thin metal overlay .

                Frames that have been struck more than once that are in circulation do not stand out ...one has to look closely to find them .
                Not confined to just one or two manufacturers - but many seam to have frames with double strikes but their internal quality control
                did a better job removing them before being giving out .

                I have seen a few Long Flaw crosses that show that problem . - the one shown below .

                Also double strikes are not confined to frames only but also to cores .
                My favourite is this one I have .

                Stamping strip stuck in the lower die and reverse struck by the moving die again . Front shows no traces of a 2nd strike .
