    KVK 1. Klasse L/12

    Dear forumites,

This is currently on a auction; is it authentic? Never seen before such a configuration and a L/12 without swords.

I'm curious to know your inputs/comments on this one.

        Most unusual,

I have only seen an example of this on Stefans website, a zinc made cross without swords and with a screwback.

However, the example on that site shows the fixing pin at the top to be different and the maker mark to be in a different place.

In addition, why stamp the screwplate with L/12?

I'll be interested in reading what our learned friends make of this.

        Cheers

        Jamie

          Hi Jamie,

I thought the same: why bother to mark also the screw plate?

Besides also the patina looks a bit strange, almost like "constructed, wanted"...

I allow myself to post a link of the site of 5tefan (DNA) with the examples mentioned by you:

Many thanks to 5tefan for his good work in portraying all these variants!

          Cheers,

          Claudio

The pebbling, wreath and placement of swastika within the wreath show this to be a good example by Juncker IMO. The fact that the disc has the companies LDO number on it should not be a concern as this anomaly is encountered on other makers crosses as well. This is true with screw back KVK1s and EK1s. Lastly, being a zinc example I don't feel the massive sort of anti-rotation pin to be a issue either.

I as well give a big thumbs up to the work that Stefan has done with his website.

Who said zinc wasn't a precious metal?

                          Hi Chet!

That’s exactly why I didn’t bid on it! I’m not a big fan zinky stuff...
