    EK2 maker??

    Hello my friends,

I recently found this with unmarked. I think this is the early form of Paul Meybauer.
The reason for this is that the core is Meybauer's early form.

    What do you think?

    meybauer frame (little-frame chip)

      I don't think that it's early Maybauer's EK2, for me it's simply Maybauer's nice EK2-1939

Just to add to this thread, there were many variations of cores in the Meybauer EK's. One way I think to determine which cores were the earliest would be to look to the 1st class crosses which were manufactured by Meybauer which had the early unmarked 'coke-bottle' pin (hardware) to see which core(s) were used in them. As the 1st class cross evolved one might find rhyme/reason to determine the Meybauer timeline of early, mid, and late core production in the EKII's, assuming the 1st and 2nd class used the same cores. Just my thoughts...

            Hello Robert,

            Thanks for your comment!

            Yes, I agreed with you.
So I decided from the beginning that it was 'early'.

            Best regards,
            S.W.

              S.W.,
There are a few interesting threads in the archives (search this forum) under the heading ‘Early Meybauer EKI’ which may help. You’ll also find a couple threads under this same heading on early Meybauer EKII’s as well.

IMO this is a good Meybauer type with 1 type inner core
