Looks good to me, though hard to evaluate the enamel from these pics. Such a worn DK will often have enamel damage.

Looks OK, but post straight on taken pictures (like the one of the reverese), please. Those artistic photos are nice, but not always of very much help.

I like this one. It seems somebody tried to clean the center.

I agree a pretty nice 20. I just don't like the wear to it. Tom

I believe the cross is only worn for a very short time, no intensive wear. In my opinion this is a TRUE mint cross, untouched and in the condition as found. Wreath has nearly all the gilding. It would take only a blink of an eye to remove all the patina with a product... than collectors will misslabel it as 'mint'
The white centre on the backside is just caused by the natural forming of patina... take a look at many other crosses and it has nothing to do with 'somebody tried to clean the centre' What a lazy cleaner, cleaning the centre and than quitting with 20% of the job done.

Anyway this is one of the nicest Zimmermanns i have seen in a long time. I'm always charmed by awards who are in great shape but loaded with traces of time... like this example.

I've owned many Zimmermann DKiG's, and I like this particular cross.
I'd leave it just the way it is. I personally would not say the cross is in MINT condition due to the wear to the starburst, etc.

It´s a good Zimmermann, don´t clean it, leave it as it is

Has the white reverse center not something to do with some kind of radiation from the pin? Most of the time the central part under the pin kept its finish better or patinated less then the rest of the reverse... I believe I read that somewhere in Frank Heukem's book about the General Assault Badge.
