    Von Rundstedt’s baton.

It seems that there are not many pictures of GFM Von Rundstedt with his formal baton.
Talking to the family they told me that he didn’t like to carry the formal baton, and preferred his interim baton. The interim baton was taken from him, but he was also promised that it would be returned to him. That never happened as it disappeared from the museum it was in.

There’s the one studio photograph where he just got the baton and his holding it wearing gloves, but other than that I couldn’t find any.

Did anyone ever see another or maybe has one in his collection?
I’d be VERY interested to see or buy/trade a period photograph of GFM Von Rundstedt with The formal baton.

    Thanks in advance.

Wrong forum I think. There is a great thread by Sepp45 in the general Wehrmacht awards forum (flower war medals etc), that has many examples. These are great shots.

                  Thank you Markus.
I feel very lucky to own such an item from a man like von Rundstedt.

                    Yes, you’re right.
Maybe the admin can move it.

He was given the honorary rank as Chef of the 18th Regiment on 4th of November 1938.
Here’s another tunic that’s still in the Rastatt museum. It was donated by the family to them when the baton left the exhibition.
