    EK1 maker Identity?

    I was wondering if anyone happens to know the maker of this EK1? Its my first one so I dont have alot to compare it too.

    Looks like a post-war copies. Details are very soft.

      I think the cross is okay. It has veining and the details look okay I belive but I'll see what others have to say. The pinback looks kinda like a replacement and looks like the hook was repaired

                This cross, as others have stated, is an original period Meybauer. The earlier Meybauers had a different pin style/type; yours is the last type used by this firm during the war period by my understanding. Very nice worn example. There were many markings such as 'L/13, micro 'L/13' and '7', the placement on the cross differed depending on whether it was a pinback or screwback. The national symbol and dates were stamped in high-relief, which gave the core's detail real definition. A search in this forum will offer you many examples by this cross maker.

                  Hmm very interesting, Ill have to look at some other examples. This example seems to be unmarked, I suppose that would be typical of an Iron cross with different variants
