    Are KVK's without swords made from copper anybody

    Hi too all I purchased i kvk without swords maker 50 awhile back I noticed it had dramatically changed colour in months so i gave it a rub and the silver disappeared leaving a copper colour underneath is this right any help will be much appreciated

    Steve,
    KVK1's were made from silver, tombac and zinc. Your cross by Gschiermeister is a tombac example. By rubbing away the silver finish you have exposed the under laying material of tombac. Tombac is an alloy mostly comprised of copper. Thus, the copper appearance that you now see.
