How much for this L/11 EK 1?

How much would you offer? I have a shot at it, but would have to get rid of a buncha other stuff. Consists of the cased & boxed L/11 EK1, the Urkunde for it, a condolence letter that accompanied it, and the original Feldpost package it came in.

ALL replies more than welcome. I have a tentative offer in mind - and one to beat - and would like to see what the cross forum thinks.

    Thanks very much in advance.

Unless it was nighttime, or the weather was bad, and you were running out of gas - then it was a sweaty nightmare, like a monkey f*ing a skunk.

Here's the Urkunde. As I said, there's also a condolence letter, and the original packaging they all came together in.....

Quite. Apparently the unit thought he had been killed, and sent the EK to the family. Apparently the man was actually captured. The EK went into the attic then, and now the grandson has it for sale. Of course, this is the story, and I am asking for what people "think" the cross is worth.

a cased 'L/11' on it's own in mint condition, say, US$650, with document, perhaps $730-750.

If you forget the story (which is a perfectly feasible one, given the condition and documentation..) then it's the outer carton that makes a big difference to this nice set....particularly if it's marked by Deumer....

If the condolence letter, Urkunde and Feldpost package all reference 'Pfeuffer' and you trust the provenance,...then if sold through a German Dealer, I would expect to see this lot for Euro 750 ++

Winkler would ask that price.....and get it easily.

The set looks realy nice. But the story dont hold up as L/11 is a private purchase and not a awarded EK!. And if the outercartong is also markt whit Dumer expect a value off those 650 usd or more.

The prices have been rising lately, so I would agree with Mikael $650 USD or more depending on if you go to a dealers site or not Dealers sites will be more.

                          Very good point Mikael,

L/11 marked, but an issue cross? Never the less, forget the story and everything else is spot on

                          Regards,
                          Brett

All help has been much appreciated!!!

Thanks for the info on the awarded vs. issued crosses. I'll re-read the accompanying letter to see if it clarifies it. Seller said he hadn't found any other war-time stuff (photo's, etc) so could be tough to nail it down.

I'm just salivating over the beauty of this cross!

hankmeister, I think the consensus is about US$650, good luck.
