It is fine. Never had a cross in it, but it is real.

These have been discussed a few times. It seems to be generally accepted that they are authentic. I have one myself and am pleased with its originality.

They have been questioned mainly becuase of how the market has been flooded with them as of late.

they are made of a low grade ofstock ,i see evidence of reprocessed paper, which i believe was common on original packets.

... and the fact that the maker name shown is not a known manufacturer of EKII's.

My advice is to stay well clear ...

Just to make things interesting, attached is a picture of a mothers cross case in Laurence Strong's collection that has the same maker.

Perhpas C&F and Graf only made packets/cases and not medals?

                Gents,
You are all WAY OFF BASE in my opinion. The EK bags are not marked with the maker of the EK! That is the paper factory marker. That factory was not far from my Opa's house and only recently closed down.

So every maker did have a bag factory then?

No, I am saying that these bags are marked by the PAPER factory. Think of them as a subcontractor. They make bags. We don't do crosses, but you can buy bags from us.

                        Guy's,

We have numerous unmarked EK 2's with possible thought makers and some with no known makers really, we also have numerous gaps in the lists of makers.....so while this may be an unknown maker of EK's as far as we know to that limited extent, there is also this to consider:

The packets conform in all detail to other known original packets, there is nothing wrong with the packet.

There being copious amounts available is of no matter, for once the 'hoard' story is true. I'm aware of certain facts concerning the story, and also I own such a packet.

Perhaps these packets belong to the round three's

                        Kr

                        Marcus

PS The round 3 thingy was a joke

                          Marcus,

Fill us all in on the facts of the story or is it a "secret"?

                          Regards,
                          Brett

I got one along with the cross but I am sure they were just put together to get a few extra bucks out of me. I can send you a pic of the cross this evening when I am at home if you would like Jim.
