    EK2, combat damaged? MM?

An EK2, that came in the mail today.
I know that they only wore the ribbon after awarded.
THis was in a big vet lot that I got in the mail today. Everything was just the way that he brought it home 73 years ago.
Don't know how this would have been damaged otherwise.
    Maker mark a '44'???

Its possible that the recipient had it on his person during active service.Maybe in a breast pocket where it could suffer damage easily.

nice cross! Damage could be done postwar as these crosses were literally everywhere. I never buy story but just a cross!
Many of crosses are unique with their own characters! This one is one of them!

many of the awards were used as practicing targets after the war. So I would not buy all the stories just because the award is damaged buy a bullet.
