    very interesting

The EK's frame looks like RT's EK frame, but it is for WWI. Mostly, we can find that TR's EK frame for WWI is an ordinary reverse. Ordinary EK was issued in WWI with the contour of Maltan Cross.
This pin of EK is so thin .....very interesting EK...it's my first to see it.

    regards

That pin setup looks very much like my 1870 EK1:

These pillow backs are WW1 made, not TR, they just have similar proportions to the late made pieces. Nice 1870 Marc.

I know, I get bored easily, it will probably change again in a month or two.

If you look closely at the centre of the makers crest, providing it is not too worn you will see the lettering "AWS". I'm not 100% on what AWS stands for but was led to believe possible Alfred Werner and Sohn. It is noticeably different from Rothe and Neffe's mark. The proportions on these crosses tends to be wider in the middle giving a later production type look to them.
              Hi,

This is about the only informed comment in this thread! Definitely genuine. Definitely not Rothe. Definitely not Third Reich but maybe 1920s as opposed to WW1. The maker mark AWS definitely stands for A. Werner & Sohne, Berlin (I have no definitive info on what the A may stand for). This type of reverse is referred to as a "pillow" or "waffle" back and is quite sought after - these variants are not common. A search on the Imperial section will turn up some more examples.

Evaluate the item, not the story and not the seller's reputation!

If you PM/contact me without the courtesy of using your first name, please don't be offended if I politely ignore you!
