Spange on a Medal Bar - Opinions Please

    Greetings,
I just acquired this beautiful medal bar and matching ribbon bar and have noticed something strange. The 1939 date box has slightly curved inward edges. I am not familiar with this style of spange and was wondering why this is or who its maker is?

    Thank you for any help.

Early, or first pattern spange have this trait.
I don't believe you have anything to worry about here.
    Ralph.

            Hi George,
Thanks for showing me another example. Any idea if it is marked on reverse?
            Thanks again,

              medal bar

The spange is a first model Meybauer without veins (first I have seen without veins). Jim

No marks. It was probably manufactured before any maker marking systems were in effect.

                    This Spange isn't a Meybauer.
                    Best regards,

A very nice looking 'court mounted' ribbon bar.
                      Very, very nice!!!
I especially like seeing the box of issue with it.

That's an odd looking "hybrid" of a 1st and 2nd class on that ribbon bar.

                          cheers

It'll never win a beauty contest, and no idea who made it but it has an old/archaïc look to it and I like it!

Here is another one from my archives that shows the back
