Nobody answers threads because alot of us can't tell a bad KVK1 from a good one so we tend to try and keep our mouths shut. When we do reply after nobody else speaks up for at least a day the experts come in and make us new collectors feel moronic in the reply we do offer. So from what I have learned in my case is no answer is the right answer haha.

Actually i don't agree with the comments above. I believe there are still many useful people who try to help people as much as they can.

Hi i am a new collector of two years ,i concentrate on wound badges now,i love to respond to questions if i am right then i feel i have learned something ,if i am wrong then the experts will soon put me right so i again learn something ,i have a lot of free time so i am able to look at all the old threads and as long as they are correct we can all learn from them ,but some old threads and there answers may be wrong as collectors have all learned a lot in the last 10 years ,so what might have been correct 10 years ago maybe will not be now ,any old threads that are no longer correct in there content should be deleted, for if you do a search act on that information and do not double check it with the guys on the forum you could end op with a piece that was original then but not now Kevin.

Unfortunately I too saw ,that recent differences in interests have come to the fore here this on the side.

I think of the disagreements between the collectors here .
there is who is offended because he is not right , ect

Unfortunately ,the world is changing, and with him are changing we too

The “research’s been done” mindset implies there’s nothing more to learn through observation & dialog ~ just pull up the appropriate threads (half of them with their original photos purged) and you’ll have your answers. I honestly think that’s a cop-out. It’s an excuse for members to not exercise their brain, their observational skills as well as their ability (or lack thereof) to make their case one way of the other.

We’ve all seen the remarks: “Do your homework” and “Do a search”. With a tad more effort one could A. Be helpful, B. show you have some observational skills. C. Demonstrate that your interpretation of said observations has some merit, D. Isn’t some subjective nonsense lacking factual evidence and E. Spark observations (from others) that may not have occurred to you. I often wonder if Bianchi or his Moderators removed the emojies if it wouldn’t benefit ALL by forcing folks to relearn to have to freaking articulate what they mean rather than use some ‘thumbs up’ or ‘thumbs down’ thing.

The tendency for some to demonstrate a level of arrogance that they’ve seen a reference (somewhere) that might answer the question but are just too damn busy to share their thoughts beyond saying “Do a search” and you too might be enlightened or, making a judgement on some collector’s ‘find’ without providing a modicum of their observations, analysis and evaluation leading to said conclusion leads to some frustration and might contribute to a general lethargy in forum participation.
Having read your post twice i agree with you. I have just started a new direction of collecting and having done searches on the subject I am even more confused than I was before. Half the links do not work and half the photos are not there. There are those that simply say do your homework get the knowledge etc but surely asking for opinions is what this forum is all about. You know that sometimes the things you read are not correct and the human touch is nice. Thank you for your reply Rick

Exactly sniper, the trouble with some of the searches are that the threads are no longer there or half of the photos. I try and help people when I can and I like the fact that you can ask experts. It just seems that these days the responses can be few which is a shame.

Thats a good point. It can be a little scary to reply hoping that you have got it right. Some experts will say nothing until they can try and make a fool out of someone. Thankfully this does not happen too often. If you have something to say then say it. Your input just might be the missing piece of the puzzle.

I agree that a post can sometimes be hijacked by bickering which is a shame.

I agree all I am saying is that it seems to have diminished lately. True though you do have the hard corps who always try and advise you included Nightstalker, thank you

also it might be the thing that new wave of collectors entered the market and slowly replacing the old ones.
