    Interesting, thanks to both of you.

    Accounting for inflation, $45 in 1970 is almost $300 today. So they weren't cheap even back then.

      Nope, in the 70s Souval did not sell the same Quality they did in the Early Days after the War. If you have a very early Souval Grand Cross, what is proper Stamped with 800/L58 Silver Frame and what is in very good Shape for that you will get a very good Price. What you have is a later Souval and not one from the early ones produced.

        It was not I who bought from Souval in the 1970s; I got this piece just last weekend.

        But I take your point: in the 1970s they were making inferior quality pieces.
