Knights cross of the war merit cross without swords

I have this piece here and I am not really convinced about, is it a good or a bad one.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks

I don’t like the loop but I would like to hear the opinions on the cross.
      Best regards Thomas.

So no silver mark anywhere? What is the base material?

              Hi Matt

That looks like an early souval one

I'm not really sure about Leroy, I guess some kind of neusilber or buntmetal, there are no punchmarks visible on the cross.

                  Hi Patrick,

Ok, probably you are right, on the first sight it looks promising but the keyword souval open my eyes. Thanks!

A nice Souval. I say that because I collect them. Not wartime. It has the classic Souval shape and is in fact the Souval with swords with swords removed as per standard. The cheaper non silver version. One I’d own, but not wartime as I said. It matches my example with swords very nicely.
