    Hello

Without a close up shot of the weaving of this ribbon it would be impossible to make an accurate assessment.

        Pass!

I have never seen an original set with the mini ribbon attached as a tie! However, I have seen many of these and all were with reproduction crosses.

          Another reason to pass

Notice that nowhere does the seller actually claim that this ribbon is an authentic, pre-May 1945 example.

From my experience, when you see an RK ribbon w/ the small miniature ribbon ties sewn onto it...you can almost bet it is fake

Thanks so much you have been very helpful. All I really needed was to look at the sellers other auctions!

does this apply to KVK Knights cross ribbons as well?

Accidentally offending people on the internet since 1997

That's a good question, Mark. (The KVK RK on Bill Shea's site -- the authenticity of which I don't doubt -- has the "mini-ribbon" ties that everyone here finds so suspect.)

No need to enlarge!! The ribbon is a fake...the tie ribbon which should show a god deal of wear is brand new and still crisp in appearance (and white) while the RK ribbon has been yellowed!
                            But, it will sell....
                            And to be sarcastic....NEVER MIND!

Definitely looks like it has been artificially aged, and unevenly at that. These seem to be popping up allot lately, makes you wounder.
