It might have been good at one time. The bordering of the swastika is strange, though.

I´ll agree on the bordering around the swastika looks strange.
it looks new and like it was added later compare to the cross "been there" look.

It’s period and with some additions as mentioned, the backing is replaced also. Looks likely done at the time though. It has great character I think
